Sesame Solutions will then obtain up-to-date information regarding your current scheme/s, research that information and after careful consideration, produce a comprehensive report for you (and copy for IDFM (City) Ltd), which will make recommendations as to their ‘best advice’. Given the initial uncertainty, and anticipated surge in enquiries to the scheme administrators it may take some time to establish an individual's personal circumstances
  • Once you have considered the advice you are then in the position to make a decision as to how you wish to proceed.
  • It is important to appreciate that the Sesame Solutions Team takes full responsibility for the advice they provide and will advise you according to their ‘best advice’, i.e. what they believe to be the best option for you in their professional opinion.

  • Sesame Solutions provides a specialist Independent Financial Advice (IFA) service dealing exclusively in areas of advice regarded as complex. For pensions this includes advice on options at retirement (pension drawdown / phased drawdown / annuity purchase), transfers from occupational pension schemes and pensions affected by divorce.
  • IDFM (City) Ltd are a firm of independent financial advisers and are an appointed representative of Sesame Ltd, the UK’s leading provider of support services for independent financial advisers.
  • IDFM (City) Ltd work with Sesame Solutions to provide comprehensive advice on preserved occupational pensions.

Cost

  • There is no charge for the initial meeting with Peter Curtis (Pension adviser and director of IDFM (City) Ltd).
  • As the Lehman defined benefit scheme and the Lehman defined contribution scheme are both occupational pension schemes you will need an occupational pension analysis to ascertain your options and the best way forward.
  • You can choose how Sesame Solutions are paid: pay a fee, or Sesame Solutions can accept commission from the insurance company and charge no fee. Alternatively we can rebate the commission to the client and charge a fee.  The exact details of these options will be explained in writing before you make any decision to proceed with the occupational pension analysis.
  • The cost of the occupational pension scheme analysis report is £600 plus vat.  However in the following circumstances no report fee will be payable.
    • You use Sesame Solutions to transfer your preserved pension benefits to a new arrangement (i.e. Personal Pension/Stakeholder/Section 32) based on the advice contained within the report.
    • You insist on making a transfer to a new arrangement using the services of Sesame Solutions against the advice contained within the report. 

What next

  • As all staff at Lehman Brothers have been affected there will be a huge pressure on the scheme administrators to provide scheme information.
  • IDFM (City) Ltd are urging all staff members to arrange a meeting at the earliest opportunity so that IDFM (City) Ltd can order the relevant occupational pension scheme information at the earliest convenience. In effect it will be in your interests to ensure you start the process as soon as possible.
  • Simply complete the enquiry form with some dates and times when you will be available for a meeting and send at your earliest convenience.
